A LABEL FOR MY THOUGHTS

It doesn’t matter
How many years
I’ve lived here
Or how good
My dutch is.
You will always
Make me feel less
Like I don’t belong here.

I took my time
To learn about the culture,
Bought a bike,
Adjust to the weather
To be called afterwards
Een kut buitenlander.

You feel superior
I get it and I’ve seen it.
But why?
Why am I less of a human
Because of how I look.
Because of my ethnicity
Or my background.

Why do you discriminate me
And play as if I am the one emotional.
I am the one that’s delusional and
LET US NOT FORGET loud and violent.
All the labels and division you created
To protect and feel better about yourself
Will fall back.

And when it does
You will finally realize that
we are the same
With the same fear, same thoughts,
Same struggles, same body.
And only loving eachother
and accepting one another
May help us

WILLINGLY BLIND

I am not blind, but CNN is trustworthy.
I am not blind, but Facebook is my newspaper.
I am not blind, but Monsanto is fighting world hunger.
I am not blind and there is no racism nor slavery anymore.

I am not blind, but the wall will make America great again.
I am not blind, but I trust the pharmaceutical industry.
I mean it’s been tested right?
I am not blind, but Kim Kardashian is my role model.
I am not blind, but owning a gun is a basic human necessity.

I am not blind, but you may be blind. So trust your government and go with the crowd.

Mi ta mi koló

Na Hulanda mi ta pretu,
na Kòrsou mi ta blanku.
Mi identidat ta den mi kueru,
Mas pretu, mas puru.

Ko’i makaku b’a bin hasi,

We live in our own world,
In our own bubble.
Not giving a f….. about the other.
Letting ego, pride and hate take over.
Hurting the other in the heat of a moment.

I LIVE
IN MY OWN
BUBBLE
DO NOT DISTURB!

We got this thing called social media.
But are we really connecting?
Are we really bonding with people?
Or are we pretending to be liking?
Sharing? and commenting?
But in reality we are as fake as our society.

I AM
FAKE
ARE YOU?

I TRUST
THE GOVERNMENT
THEREFORE
I AM BLIND

If words do kill
Tell me, how many people
Have you killed?
How many dreams, future
And hopes
Have you shattered?

Because of you,
How many lives as ended?
Was it for your own
Satisfaction?
Or was it hate, confusion
Jealousy or your insecurities?
